The intrinsic nature of my work is all about transitions exploring uncertainty and change. I have a visual theme which I take as my starting point, say, a particular landscape. I would then draw or paint this maybe four, five, six, seven, eight or more times. Each idea developing from the last in a continuous organic and intuitive flow. The whole process is uncertain and exciting because I never know what is going to happen and it is about change because as I work, the ideas evolve and develop. It is is the dynamic dialogue of space, colour, movement and texture which create my visual language.
